Yesly Energy: The Essentia Crew Takes a Measured Swing at Caffeine

About Yesly

Yesly is a Sarasota, Florida beverage brand making zero-sugar functional water and a zero-sugar energy drink, both pitched around the line "say yes to what's next."

The pedigree is the story. Ken Uptain founded Essentia in 1998 and sold it to Nestlé in 2021. Scott Miller, Essentia's former CEO and a Tampico Beverages veteran, runs Yesly day to day, with Uptain backing the brand and playing a supporting role. Yesly is a second act from people who already built a premium water brand from scratch.

Where Yesly Plays

Yesly launched in tall 16 fl oz cans of "enhanced still water" with electrolytes, vitamins B6, B12, and C, and stevia for sweetness. The can was the point. Most enhanced waters sit in clear plastic bottles, and Yesly wanted to look different on shelf. Early flavors leaned fruity and familiar: Pomegranate Acai Blueberry, Lemon, Black Cherry, and Kiwi Strawberry.

The brand now spans two lanes. The caffeine-free functional water line handles hydration. Yesly Energy handles the morning-to-afternoon slot, with 114mg of caffeine from green tea, electrolytes, B vitamins, and zero sugar. That caffeine number sits well below the 200mg-plus cans that dominate the energy aisle, so this is built for people who want a lift without a big stimulant hit.

Positioning

Yesly's pitch is broad on purpose. Miller has described the target as an on-the-go lifestyle consumer, and the messaging is built around positivity and inclusivity rather than a niche subculture. There's no hardcore gym or gaming identity here. It's better-for-you hydration and light energy for anyone walking past the cooler.

Distribution has been regional and relationship-driven, starting with the New York metro area through a distributor that had handled Essentia and Tampico. More recently, Yesly has turned up at Costco, including in-warehouse roadshow events for Yesly Energy.

Yesly is for the shopper who wants a clean, zero-sugar can that isn't screaming at them. It's a proven team in a crowded lane, and the green tea energy option gives it a more distinctive angle than another flavored water.
