Happy Panda Launches With Cognizin® Citicoline at Its Core
Happy Panda is a new nootropic energy drink built around Cognizin® Citicoline, natural caffeine, and L-theanine. Here's what we know about the launch.
A new nootropic energy brand just hit the market, and it's built around one of the better-studied brain ingredients in the category. Happy Panda launched in early February, and 50% of its initial stock is already gone. Not bad for a DTC-only brand fresh out of the gate.
The Founders
Happy Panda founders Dr. Noor and Cameron James
Happy Panda was built by an unlikely pair: Dr. Noor (COO), a physician with advanced medical training, and Cameron James (CEO), a veteran of professional sports and lifestyle culture. The pitch is that medical credibility and consumer appeal don't have to be in opposition -- and the choice of Cognizin® Citicoline as the hero ingredient backs that up more than most launch-day claims do.
What's in It
We don't have a full label yet, so we'll update this once one surfaces. From what the brand has shared:
150mg natural caffeine paired with L-theanine for balanced energy without the edge
Cognizin® Citicoline as the lead nootropic -- a clinically studied, patented form of citicoline produced via Kyowa Hakko's fermentation process
B vitamins and electrolytes
Under 5 calories, zero sugar
The Cognizin® inclusion is the main story here. It's one of the few nootropic ingredients with a real research base -- attention, focus, and mental energy are the areas with the most study support. Happy Panda isn't stacking 20 ingredients to look impressive on a label. It's leading with one that has a track record and building around it. That's a cleaner approach than most of what we see at launch.
Disclosure: Cognizin® is a sponsor of the Bevlab Podcast, but did not sponsor this article.
Happy Panda Flavors
Three Flavors to Start
Charged Up Cherry Lime -- cherry up front, lime on the finish
Surged Up Sour Razz -- tangy raspberry with a sweet close
Shocked Up Sherbert -- nostalgic rainbow sherbert, carbonated
The naming scheme leans into the brand's energetic personality without overdoing it. "Shocked Up Sherbert" is the kind of flavor that either wins people over or loses them before the first sip, but at least it's memorable.
Where to Get It
Happy Panda is available now at drinkhappypanda.com. There's a variety pack offered and individually-packaged cans in different sizes. Retail expansion is planned but no timeline has been announced.
Selling half your launch stock in 30 days on DTC alone is a real signal. When the full label drops, we'll revisit -- but the Cognizin® anchor gives this one more substance than most new-brand announcements at this stage.
