Neutonic Lands in Nearly 1,000 Walmart Stores in New Mood & Mind Set

Neutonic is rolling into nearly 1,000 Walmart stores across the U.S. as part of Walmart's new Mood & Mind beverage set. The rollout began October 3, 2026, in participating stores and on Walmart's site, and it's the brand's biggest retail expansion to date.

If you haven't cracked one yet, the Neutonic Productivity Drink is a focus-first can from the UK-born brand co-founded by Chris Williamson, host of the Modern Wisdom podcast, and UK fitness entrepreneur James Smith. It pairs a moderate 120mg of caffeine with a fully dosed nootropic stack. We broke down the whole formula on our Neutonic Productivity Drink product page.

The bigger story is the shelf itself. Walmart is carving out space for drinks sold on mood and focus rather than stimulant load, and Neutonic is one of the brands it picked to fill it.

Walmart's Mood & Mind Set Gets Neutonic

The Mood & Mind set groups emerging and trending beverages by need state: mood, relaxation, social, and cognitive. It's Walmart's bet that functional drinks are moving past the classic energy pitch toward focus, productivity, and everyday performance (we dug into the set itself in Walmart's Mood & Mind Set Shows Functional and NA Drinks Are Merging). Neutonic fits the cognitive lane cleanly. The brand has always called its can a "Productivity Drink" instead of an energy drink.

The hard facts from the announcement:

  • Store count: Nearly 1,000 Walmart stores nationwide, plus Walmart online
  • Timing: Rollout began October 3, 2026, in participating stores
  • Formats: Refrigerated and shelf-stable single cans, plus a new four-pack
  • Packaging: The Walmart launch is the U.S. retail debut of Neutonic's refreshed can design
  • Scale: Neutonic calls it the company's largest retail expansion so far

The four-pack is a first for Neutonic, and Walmart is calling the four-pack options exclusive. Williamson says retail has been a strong growth driver for the brand, and he sees Walmart as a major step toward national distribution. Walmart's beverage leadership said Neutonic earned its slot with a distinct point of view and a dedicated customer base.

Some details are still unknown. The announcement doesn't say which stores are carrying it, how much shelf space the set gets in each location, or whether Walmart plans to add stores after the first wave. "Participating stores" covers a lot of ground, so check your local Walmart before making the trip.

Neutonic isn't arriving alone, either. WellWithAll is another better-for-you energy brand heading into Walmart this fall, a sign the retailer is building out the health-forward side of the cooler.

Neutonic Productivity Drink: The Quick Breakdown

Neutonic built this can as a coffee replacement, not an entry in the caffeine arms race. The label discloses every active dose individually, with no proprietary blend. The full ingredient deep dive is on our product page.

  • Caffeine (120mg) - Naturally sourced and well below the 200-300mg in most energy drinks. Enough for a clear lift without turning your afternoon into a jitter session.
  • Cognizin Citicoline (500mg) - Kyowa Hakko's branded citicoline at the full dose used in most of its human research. It's the focus-and-memory anchor of the formula.
  • Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract (400mg) - An adaptogenic root aimed at stress and mental fatigue, not workout performance.
  • L-Theanine (400mg) - The tea amino acid, dosed at the upper end of what you usually see. Paired with caffeine, it smooths out the edge for calmer, focused alertness.
  • Panax Ginseng Root Extract (200mg) - An adaptogen added for day-to-day mental sharpness.
  • 15 calories, 2g carbs - Neutonic sells the can as zero sugar. It's sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium and carries 170mg of sodium per 355mL can.
  • B vitamins - Thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6, folate, B12, biotin, and pantothenic acid, each at 100% DV. The forms are upgraded: methylcobalamin for B12, a pre-converted 5-MTHF folate, and niacinamide, which means no niacin flush.
  • Other ingredients - Carbonated water, citric acid, sodium citrate, natural flavors, and potassium sorbate.

Flavor Lineup

Walmart's four-packs come in Blue Raspberry, Tropical Ice, Strawberry Lemonade, and Wild Citrus, plus a variety pack pairing Tropical Ice with Strawberry Lemonade. The live lineup is below.

  • Blue Raspberry (12 Cans: $37.99)
  • Orange Sunrise (12 Cans: $37.99)
  • Strawberry Lemonade (12 Cans: $37.99)
  • Tropical Ice (12 Cans: $37.99)
  • Variety Pack (12 Cans: $42.99)
  • Wild Citrus (12 Cans: $37.99)

What Walmart Shoppers Should Watch

This puts a fully dosed nootropic can on a national mass-retail shelf, and the formula backs up the pitch: 500mg of Cognizin and 400mg of L-theanine against just 120mg of caffeine is a serious focus build, not a stimulant bomb with a brain-themed label. The four-pack matters most. Multipacks turn an impulse grab into a pantry staple, and debuting that format at Walmart shows where Neutonic is betting its growth.

Next, watch whether the Mood & Mind set holds its space through Walmart's next reset, and whether those four-packs stay exclusive or show up at other retailers.
