Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel Join Proda Protein Soda
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel invest in Proda's sugar-free, 10g whey protein soda as it targets club and grocery.
Proda just picked up some celebrity backers. On October 13, 2026, the protein soda brand announced Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, and Joey Gonzalez (executive chairman of Barry's) as investors / new equity holders. Proda was founded earlier this year by co-CEOs Jeff Church, a nine-time founder and Suja Juice co-founder, and Matthew Postlethwaite, the Peaky Blinders actor. Timberlake and Biel will work on creative strategy, flavor development, product development, and cultural partnerships.

Timberlake, who is best known for the "Drop the 'The'" meme from his role in the movie The Social Network, fits the brand perfectly. After all... "It's cleaner."
Right now, Proda Protein Soda sells at Sprouts, on Amazon, and through its own site. The brand wants to get into club stores and mainstream grocery, and a cap table like this one makes those buyer meetings easier to land.
The Formula Behind the Names
The celebrities get people to look. The can has to do the rest. Proda says every can has 10g of whey protein isolate, zero sugar, and real carbonation. It comes in a 12oz can, and the brand lists seven flavors, including Classic Orange and Strawberry Lemonade.

10g in a Crowded Cooler
Protein soda had a busy summer. Nutrabolt launched C4 Sparkling Protein on July 30, 2026, with 20g of protein, zero sugar, no caffeine, and five vitamins and minerals. A few days later, BellRing's Premier Protein Sparkling Protein Soda arrived with 15g of whey protein isolate, 90 calories, and 3g of sugar, sweetened with cane sugar and stevia extract. Bevlab has also covered Barebells Protein Soda and SkyPop, both at 10g, and Joyburst at 4g.

So is 10g enough when C4 doubles it? If you're counting grams toward a daily target, the bigger cans win easily. In fairness to Proda, it isn't trying to replace your shake. The brand pitches a soda first and calls the protein its "quiet superpower". Lighter protein usually means an easier-drinking can, and that's a fair trade for someone who wants a better afternoon soda more than a recovery drink.
The shelf is getting crowded, but that doesn't mean the trend has peaked. When two of the biggest names in sports nutrition enter the same format within a week of each other, the category is still growing.
The famous investors will get Proda in the door at retail. At 10g of protein, though, taste is what has to keep it in the cooler.
